In Memory JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Applications

Oracle has announced the general availability of Oracle VM templates for JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Application release 9.1 and Tools release 9.1.2.1. These templates can be used with Oracle VM for x86 version 3.0.3 or later and on the Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud.

Oracle VM Templates for JD Edwards EnterpriseOne accelerate the process of setting up a working environment compared to the traditional installation process. The templates contain preconfigured images of the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne enterprise, HTML, and database servers, complete with Linux operating system, Oracle WebLogic Server, and Oracle Database.

Larry Ellison Confirms Ongoing JD Edwards Investment

Mr. Larry Ellison continues to confirm Oracle’s investment in JD Edwards.  Mr. Ellison made comments about Oracle’s plans for JD Edwards in the Executive Edge Q&A session at Oracle OpenWorld 2012 in San Francisco. Mr. Ellison not only confirmed that JD Edwards was included in the Private Cloud announcement; he went on to comment on Oracle’s ongoing commitment to JD Edwards. 

Mr. Ellison ends the comment regarding the JD Edwards product line, “That’s something we’re going to invest in this year, next year, five years from now, ten years from now… that’s a very important and strategic product line for us.”

The county has been using the J.D. Edwards EnterpriseOne system for about 10 years. Today, Pittsburg piggybacked on to that system, a move that had been urged by the city's state-appointed financial overseers. Sharing of the system between the two organizations is expected to save millions.
